i was cycling to covent garden the other day, it only takes 5mins from uni...
after about a minute i noticed the bike felt 'flexible.'
then a second later i accelerated a little and the chain just slipped round.
i was like 'huh?'
so i pull over.
and i see what you see above.
my frame snapped.
lame.
I didn't even hear it snap.

but then again it did cost a quid.

so now i need a new one
and i look at this and dream.
we'll see.

I'm bored of revision and so convinced myself that it was probably a good idea to check my email... It wasn't.
So then i thought i might as well read some RSS.
I was reading this guys posts when i decided to randomly click through his tumblr specific blogroll. I really like tumblrs, when this site gets its overdue revamp i may very well use one.
Anyways, I stumbled on this guys tumblr and read this post.
I almost laughed out loud in a library cluster. (yes it is that good). Check it.

While i'm here, the creator of muxtape, which i've blogged before, has a website dedicated to his photography. It's amazing. I love the simplicity and his shots too. Nothing beats a bit of grid and helvetica. Inspired.

I lurrve wikipedia. It's amazing, I spend hours just browsing through pages.

There's this way cool new thing that just launched called powerset. It's a new kind of search engine that understands human language. For the moment it just works with wikipedia.
Go check it out, it's like an uber version of wikipedia. It reads the article you're looking at and gives you 'factz' (sic.) about the article a really useful feature.
there's a video about it too.

Death Cab for Cutie had this great teaser video up for a while for their new album. It's gone now but they've released this:

Such a good video and an absolute tune!
You can download the 4 & 8 minute versions from ITunes
It's so good. I've pretty much listened to it on repeat.

The album comes out on May 13th and I can't flippin' wait!

idea #47: Recycling used inner tubes

1. Find a bike, [find not steal]
2. Use it, lots.
3. Get a puncture [this one is inevitable, not intentional]
4. Repair puncture [if this isn't feasible skip to step 7]
5. Use bike more.
6. When you feel it's time get a new inner tube.
7. Change old inner tube.
8. Cut old inner tube so it's long like a rope.
9. Loop through belt loop on the back of jeans.
10. Tie the other ends to belt loops on the front of jeans.

BOOM!

You have a super cool pair of bracers.

Last night I clocked me 1000th kilometer. [1 MegaMetre]
I got this bike computer thingy of Alex for my birthday last june. It's so great. I love stats about things. I was thinking that in 10 months, that's not that impressive really, all i do is cycle round central london. So I'm gonna try and reach my second MegaMetre by the end of the summer [September, in my case].
I mean it's not that bad... 1000km is 5 [there and back] trips to Brighton.
Easy...

Bought this poster a couple of weeks back from obeygiant.com the website of shepard fairey.
i love it.
i went to ikea [with josh we ate meatballs, frankfurters and 35p ice cream and drank ligenberry juice. yes!] and bought a frame today. so i just put it up on my wall.

google notifier and leopard

i recently got leopard [actually i was sad enough to be go get it from regent street the night it came out]
i really like it.

it's the small things i like.
the dictionary and calculator functions in spotlight
the tweak of the return key for renaming files
space bar to preview anything
better airport interface
icon previews of everything
the fact that the iCal icon is actually displays the date...
the list goes on.

i use gmail notifier and its amazing, but the new style menu bar is translucent and the little icons looked silly being opaque.
and yes i really am that anal that i have gone and made a new set of icons that are transparent
so here you are if you're that bothered like me

you need to put the icons inside google notifier: it's actually really easy:

1) go to google notifier ctrl-click the app and click 'show package contents'
2) navigate through Contents->Resources
3) you'll find the 3 png files called 'error.png' 'nounread.png' and 'unread.png' copy and paste the icons somewhere as a backup in case you change your mind later.
4)then drag and drop / copy and paste my icons in from the zip file.
5) quit and relaunch google notifier

and boom! there you have it.

update: 07:18 - on track two... loving it so far. totally new sound...

update 2: 07:57 - finished [and started again]. like it the drumming is really different gives it something new... not really good at describing slash reviewing and i'm not sure thats what i'm trying to do anyway... so i'll stop now...
other remarks though... i like the fact that didnt set a genre on the MP3 ID tags.... very 'radiohead' i suppose

got this today free from lomography because i had photos on the wall at trafalgar square.. pretty sweet.
it's pretty similar to holga but smaller and a lot lighter [i didnt think that was possible]
it feels rediculously cheap...
i really like the fact it can be a pin hole... i've never used one before so that'll be very different.
also the frame size is smaller than holga so can fit 16 pics on a roll so that'll save me some pennies. and has apetures unlike holga..
i've already customised it with a bit of dymo...
it came with a book too pretty nice.

i've been one recently... i've had loads to blog about but i havent actually done it.
so here goes... real quick and concise [err, yeah as if i'm good at that]

1. i went to italy, was awesome. pictures coming soon...
2. i made this *this* and learnt a bit more flash in the process
3. i moved back to london
4. i had a hundred or so photos *here* also see picture below
5. i saw run fat boy run and it was good despite the fact i was worried because of the director [david schwimmer]
6. i really want one of *these* or similar

that'll do for now

i start back on the physics tomorrow.

gotta make some big decisions soon...

i went fishing today.
i've never done that before.
it's fun kind of... [well novelty]
we used sweetcorn for bait i dont think they liked it.
we were fishing along the banks of the severn in a little place called arley
its totally awesome havent been for a while. we were in a secluded spot right by the river [obvs] sitting on a log.
was beautiful really
we stayed quite late eating all manner of fruit and hulahoops...
we saw loads of bats they were everywhere was way cool
the moon was glistening off the river.
was magical...
until i cast the line into a tree, that kinda spoilt things.
i also lost the weights in the water... and the hook
felt well bad it was i micro tiny hook [unbarbed] but i hope noone stands on it downstream...
sorry river severn
